“UMMC-Holding” Corp. and the Republic of Tatarstan entered into cooperation agreement
On August 28, “UMMC-Holding” Corp. and the Republic of Tatarstan have entered into cooperation agreement.
The event took place within the framework of a meeting of board of directors of JSC “Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding”.
The agreement was signed by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Andrey Kozitsyn, General Director of Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company.
Before the agreement was signed, General Director of UMMC delivered a speech at a meeting of board of directors of JSC “Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding”.
Tatarstan’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Albert Karimov, stated that the company supplies a wide range of products, but it needs to get direct supply logistics going. UMMC’s General Director, Andrey Kozitsyn, agreed that logistics is what count most.
Rustam Minnikhanov recommended “TAIF”, “Tatneft”, “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” and other companies, included in Tatarstan’s electric power complex, that they trigger cooperation with the Ural company and establish direct contacts with it for this purpose. According to him, in case of large scopes of supply it is possible to agree upon tariffs with the Russian Railways.
Rafinat Yarullin, General Director of JSC “Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding”, said that Tatartsan’s research institutions also have proposals for cooperation.
Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (Sverdlovskaya oblast, Verkhnyaya Pyshma) has over half trillion RUB annual revenue with personnel of 100ths. people. UMMC incorporates more than 40 enterprises in Russia and internationally. It is the largest producer of copper, zinc, coal and precious metals in Russia. UMMC enterprises also produce lead, selenium, tellurium, copper and nickel sulfate and other types of associated products.
The company is based on a closed process chain ranging from raw materials extraction to copper-based finished products (copper rod, rolled products, cables and wires, heat exchangers).
