JSC “Uralelektromed” pushes the envelope to overshoot its maximum output of copper cathodes
In 2020 JSC “Uralelektromed” (an enterprise of UMMC) produced 432,613 tons of copper cathodes (105.5 % compared to 2019), which is an absolute record in the history of company's business activity.
According to Alexey Korolev, the Chief engineer of Uralelektromed, the new high production rate was achieved due to the stable supply of raw materials, the seamless and consistent revamp, and the intensification of production processes.
In 2020, the company also boosted production of gold in ingots by 7%, silver in ingots by 10%, copper powder products by 7%, and refined lead by 9%. In addition, the company stepped up production of copper wire (+25%), conductive copper strand (+87%).
